OTTAWA - Some nights are just more fun — and this was one of them for Craig Anderson. Nike Air Max Plus Günstig Kaufen .The Ottawa Senators goaltender made 34 saves to blank the Minnesota Wild 3-0 Thursday night to pick up his second shutout of the season and 28th of his career.Anderson, who earned the win Tuesday against Detroit as well, has looked relaxed of late and was often seen laughing and smiling after whistles as he spoke with teammates. Its easier to smile when youre winning by three goals, said Anderson. When things are going well and youre winning (its fun). The team just seemed to be throwing a lot of pucks at the net and you get a lot of whistles and freebie shots. The Senators (7-3-2) got offensive contributions from Mike Hoffman, who scored twice, and Clarke MacArthur.Niklas Backstrom made 14 saves in the loss for Minnesota (7-5-0).The Senators remain the only team in the NHL without a regulation loss on home ice — which is impressive considering how much Ottawa struggled on home ice last season. The Senators are 4-0-2 on home ice.We definitely have more confidence at home, said MacArthur. Whether were feeding off the crowd or were making good plays. Were playing the way we should play at home and winning games at home is going to be big for down the stretch.Once again the Senators got some big contributions from its kid line — the trio of Hoffman, Mark Stone and Curtis Lazar.Shh dont tell anybody, joked Senators head coach Paul MacLean when asked about the lines success. I thought again they provided a lot of energy and obviously they provided offense and lets just keep putting them out there. The young line enjoys playing together and has been one of Ottawas most consistent since being formed late last week.Since game one we feel like we clicked and we feel good playing with each other, said Hoffman. Moving forward here we want to continue to improve and obviously the chemistry is there and I dont think teams really expect it too much so we kind of catch them a little bit.The Wild have outshot their opponents in all 12 of their games this season, but have lost their past two.Minnesota head coach Mike Yeo said not much should be made of that stat.I think that our team game gives us a chance to do that, said Yeo. I do feel that there are some guys that are going right now and I do know that there are some other guys who could give us more. I feel like there are some guys that are doing the minimum, the minimum as far as playing the system. Youve got to do those things that are expected of everybody, but then youve got to bring a little something extra on top of that and I think thats one thing thats missing right now.Hoffman made it 3-1 at 2:06 of the third period with his second goal of the night in front of 16,867 at Canadian Tire Place. Stone, who extended his point streak (2-3) to five games, found Hoffman all alone and he fired a shot that easily beat Backstrom.Despite just four shots on goal in the second the Senators managed to score on two of them.MacArthur scored his team-leading seventh of the season on the power play at 2:23 to open the scoring. Erik Karlsson found Bobby Ryan down low and he made a quick pass to MacArthur, who beat Backstrom short side from just outside the crease.Just over two minutes later Ottawa made it 2-0 as Backstrom allowed Hoffmans shot to trickle through his pads. The Wild had a number of chances, but Anderson was unbeatable. The Senators goaltender made two huge saves on the same power play, Jason Zucker hit the post on what would have been a sure goal and then Anderson made a glove save on Thomas Vanek.Andy played great for us, said MacArthur. We tried to give him a couple, but he was there to make some good saves in the second and in the third too he made a couple great saves.Anderson was just as good in the first period when the Senators were outshot 9-5.Ottawa had two great chances to open the scoring as it had back-to-back power plays, but was unable to register a single shot on goal on either opportunity.Notes: The Senators will be without D Marc Methot (back, indefinite) and D Chris Phillips (lower body, day-to-day). RW Erik Condra and LW Colin Greening were healthy scratches for Ottawa. The Wild were without LW Zach Parise (lower body, day-to-day), LW Matt Cooke (lower body, indefinite), D Jared Spurgeon (shoulder, indefinite), D Keith Ballard (flu, indefinite). D Jonathan Blum was a healthy scratch. RW Justin Fontaine celebrates his 27th birthday Thursday. Nike Air Max 720 Schwarz Günstig . His head snapped back from the impact and hit the floor. For Sweed, a second round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2008, this will be his second go around in the CFL after previously having spent time with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. http://www.shopairmaxschweiz.com/ . -- Chris Crawford hit a 3-pointer with 1:36 left to put Memphis ahead to stay, and the 21st-ranked Tigers beat seventh-ranked Louisville 72-66 Saturday, sweeping the season series from the Cardinals.KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- When he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs last off-season, quarterback Alex Smith professed his admiration for coach Andy Reid and his excitement at playing for the storied franchise. Now, he could have that opportunity for at least four more years. Smith signed a $68 million extension Sunday to remain with the Chiefs through the 2018 season, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team did not disclose the terms of the contract. Smith, who is due $7.5 million this season, will receive $45 million in new guarantees. "It was a priority of ours to get this deal done and keep Alex in a Chiefs uniform long term," Chiefs general manager John Dorsey said in a statement. "Alex is a proven leader on and off the field. He is a special individual with a lot of ability and we are fortunate to have him here." Smith and his agent, Tom Condon, had been discussing an extension for several months, and both sides were hopeful that a deal would be reached by the regular season. But with the Chiefs opening against Tennessee next weekend, time was quickly running out. "John and his staff along with Tom and his group have worked hard to get this deal done. Theyve done a nice job," Reid said in a statement. "Alex is a smart, talented football player that has adapted well to our offensive scheme. He also, obviously, has had a tremendous amount of success as a quarterback in this league. We as a team are very happy to have Alex as our quarterback." The Kansas City Star first reported that Smith had reached an agreement. The former No. 1 overall draft pick joins a wave of quarterbacks who have recently signed long-term extensions, including the Bengals Andy Dalton and the 49ers Colin Kaepernick. Smith has not played well in the preseason, throwing two interceptions in the red zone in his final outing against Minnesota. But hes been hampered by an offensive line in turmoil, an injury to running back Jamaal Charles that keppt him out two weeks of training camp, and a suspect group of wide receivers that will start the season without suspended star Dwayne Bowe. "We got some good work, some things to learn from to get better, but I do -- I do feel confident in what were doing." Smiths deal is important for the Chiefs on other fronts, too. Now that hes under contract, they can turn their attention toward a long-term deal with Pro Bowl pass rusher Justin Houston. And if they fail to reach an agreement with him, the Chiefs could put the franchise tag on Houston without worrying about losing Smith to free agency. After arriving in Kansas City for a pair of second-round draft picks, Smith had possibly the best season of his career. He threw for a career-high 3,313 yards and 23 touchdowns against only seven interceptions, even while skipping a meaningless regular-season finale. More importantly, he took a downtrodden team that had won two games before his arrival to an 11-5 record and the playoffs. Smith threw for 378 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-44 loss to the Colts, setting playoff franchise record with 30 completions and 46 attempts. Smiths won-loss record the past three seasons is 30-9-1, trailing only the Patriots Tom Brady, Packers Aaron Rodgers and Saints Drew Brees in wins among QBs with at least 30 starts. Now with a year in Reids system, Smith thinks he can be even better this season. "Its always a progression. Its not like weve arrived anywhere," he said recently. "I mean, last year is a great example of where we started the season and where we ended it. Every season is like that. "There are ups and downs along the way throughout the season, but youve got to continue to progress. You want to be playing your best football as the season goes on and into late in the year. So, youre never just at a place. Youre always striving to be moving forward." Now, Smith knows that hell be moving forward with Kansas City. ' ' '
